WHY A COLOR OF THE DAY?
Art has always been a mirror reflecting my inner world, but it wasn’t until I embraced painting that I truly began to understand its transformative power. After years of navigating the complexities of life—raising my children, experiencing the joys and challenges of marriage, and ultimately facing the profound loss of my partnership—I turned to color as a means of healing.
Each day, I select a color inspired by the world around me—a vibrant hue from an object in my home, a subtle shade observed in nature, or a color that stirs my emotions. This daily ritual, which I call the “Color of the Day,” serves as a therapeutic practice, allowing me to express and process my feelings. Through the act of painting, I find solace and a renewed sense of self.
These pieces are more than just colors on canvas; they embody my journey of grief, resilience, and rebirth. Each stroke represents a moment of reflection and gratitude, revealing the complexities of my emotions and the beauty of embracing change.
Inspired by this transformative process, I am now pursuing higher education to deepen my exploration of the arts and the psychology of art as a tool for therapeutic healing. As I continue to expand my understanding, I invite you to join me on this journey of self-discovery and healing through the language of color.
